Training

Healthy Homes Training 

We run half day courses aimed at front line staff including Community Health or Social Care practitioners working with older or disabled people.

The training highlights basic housing issues that contribute to poor health.  This course will enable staff to be better prepared to consider housing issues when assessing the needs of their residents and wherer support is needed referrals can be made directly to Sussex HIA to try to address these issues

The training has a small charge.  Details of local parking and public transport will be sent out upon booking.

An introduction to Condensation

Condensation dampness is very common. If left it can damages properties, harms the health of residents and require costly repairs or alterations.  If left black mould develops and the structure of walls , condition of plaster and condition of wood are all affected.

The half day course provides a introduction allow you to recognise problems linked to condensation and to decide on what steps should be taken.  Information is provided on the difference between condensation, water penetration and rising damp, the link between heating, ventilation, lifestyle and condensation and what you can do to stop it in wither rented homes or your own home. The course covers relevant legislation and responsibilities.

Confidentiality

The client details are held securely within a database and will not be passed on to service providers without consent and will never be given to third parties.   Referrals into WHARF are all voluntary and the client has the right to refuse being referred or can stop the process at any point.  After a new referral is received WHARF will write to each new client within a couple of weeks explaining how the service can help and what can be expected from WHARF.  Once you have received assistance from WHARF you will remain on the database and are free to contact us again at any future time.  WHARF will also write to you to let you know about new services, events and initiatives.
